A Better Life Needs Better Questions

“The power to question is the basis of all human progress.” -Indira Gandhi

Life is a question.

In a world full of uncertainties, it’s those that think they know all the answers that wind up stuck, because the truth is, evolving into every next level of your life will require you to ask yourself some insanely better questions.

If you want anything from better abilities, better relationships or a better income, you’re going to have to start asking yourself some very different question get it.

This article will explain why.

Here we go.

But First, Why Questions?

“The instinct is to look for answers, but the truth is that questions that teach us most.” –Ryan Holiday

Why focus on questions? Wouldn’t answers be much better?

Indeed, answers are wonderful. However, they’re a means to an end. They can only take you so far.

While it’s the questions you ask yourself that will lead to the answer you seek and the life you desire.

The questions you ask yourself affect how you think, what you believe, the decisions you make, the actions you take, and ultimately the direction and destination of your life.

So, if you can change the quality of your questions, you can change the quality of your life.

In his book, Awaken the Giant Within, Tony Robbins put it like this:

I began to realize that thinking itself is nothing but the process of asking and answering questions. If after reading this you’re thinking,

“That’s true,” or “That’s not true,” you had to ask yourself — either consciously or unconsciously — a question, and that question was, “Is this true?”

The Power of Questions

The people living at the peaks of success didn’t just get “lucky,” they weren’t born with the “talent” or “skills” to be successful.

No; they got to where they got, because they asked themselves better questions, and as a result, got better answers.

Mark Zuckerberg eventually asked, “How can I give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.?”

Bill Gates asked, “How can I get a computer in every home?”

By asking insanely better questions they got drastically better results.

And anyone can do the same because the quality of your questions will directly determine the quality of your answers.

If you ask a terrible question, you’ll get a terrible answer.

Ask a life-altering questioning, and the answer will be life-altering.

Life Altering Questions: You Only See What You Decide to See

“Remember, your brain, like the genie, will give you whatever you ask of it. So be careful what you ask for — whatever you look for you’ll find.” -Tony Robbins

You see a lot of things in a day, but you can only pay attention to so much.

As a result, your subconscious mind is constantly using selective attention to filter out the unimportant and focus on what really matters based upon what you feed it.

So, if you’ve ever bought a new pair of shoes or a new car, you might have noticed that you then saw a lot more people wearing those same shoes or driving the same car.

How did that happen? You didn’t seem to notice so many before.

The answer is that you’re now trained to seeing those things every day, so you begin to focus on them. And the same is true for the questions you constantly ask yourself.

If you’re always asking, “Why is it I can never save up enough money to meet my financial goals?” You will constantly find the answers to support that question.

It might be in the form of a new gadget you “had to buy” or a sale you “just couldn’t miss.” But either way, you will find an answer to support the questions you seek.

Likewise, if you ask yourself, “What is a good financial investment I can make to meet my future financial goals?” You will subconsciously scan out and see yourself being presented with far better investment opportunities.

So, why do so people remain stuck and frustrated looking for the answers to live a better life? They never change their questions, and they never change what they see. Disbelief is a negative power.

Said Author, David J. Schwartz,

“Disbelief is negative power. When the mind disbelieves or doubts, the mind attracts reasons to support the disbelief.”

In Conclusion

“Questioning is like breathing — it’s something that seems so basic, so instinctive, that we take it for granted. But there’s a lot we can all learn about how to question, and really do it well to get the answers we seek.” -Thomas Oppong

Some people will remain stuck and frustrated for years. Their abilities will never improve, their relationships will never be as they desire, and their wealth will continually decline.

Things will never change if you don’t change your mindset and the questions you ask.

Always fill your mind with positive and inspiring questions. You will only see what you decide to see.

Finally, if there’s something you want in life, ask yourself the question of what it will take to get it and go find the answers that will get you there.
